An itchy outbreak can disrupt dressing during GLP-1 treatment. Assess it before changing your skin-care routine.

Recognize a possible pattern

NHS describes hives as raised, itchy bumps or patches. They can sting or burn; color changes may be harder to see on brown or black skin. [1]

Reduce friction while seeking advice

For hives, US dermatology guidance suggests gentle, fragrance-free products, warm rather than hot showers and loose cotton clothing. Avoid scratching or rubbing, which can trigger more hives. [2]

Separate comfort care from urgent symptoms

NHS advises urgent assessment for spreading or recurring hives, or symptoms unimproved after two days. Sudden mouth, tongue or throat swelling, breathing difficulty or trouble swallowing require emergency help immediately. In the UK, call 999. [1]
