Considering a laser cap or comb during GLP-1 treatment? Start with the diagnosis.

What the trials tested

In four 2014 US sham-controlled trials, 269 adults with pattern hair loss were randomized; 225 entered efficacy analyses. Lasercombs increased terminal hair density more than sham devices after 26 weeks. Participants used them three times weekly. [2]

Read the limitations

Lexington International partly funded the study and supplied devices. Some investigators received company fees. Scalp dryness and irritation occurred. Forty-four participants were lost to follow-up; 94.7% were White. The 26-week endpoint does not establish lasting benefit. These trials did not test GLP-1 shedding or every retail cap. [2]
