If facial redness changes how you use makeup during GLP-1 treatment, bring that concern to a dermatologist.

Choose coverage by color

AAD describes green-tinted concealer for redness and yellow-tinted concealer for discoloration across light to dark skin tones. Water-based or powder makeup may be less irritating, but individual products can still irritate. Test makeup before applying it to your face. [2]

Fit makeup around treatment

If using rosacea medication, AAD recommends applying it before moisturizer. Applying moisturizer after skin has dried may reduce stinging. Ask your dermatologist how your specific prescription fits with makeup. [2]

A rosacea plan can include trigger avoidance, skin care, sun protection and medication or procedures as needed. Cosmetic coverage does not replace that assessment. [1]

Take a short product list

Bring product names and photographs of the color changes. Say whether your priority is coverage for work, occasional events or daily wear, and describe any discomfort.
