If swimming is part of your routine during GLP-1 treatment, give pool hair care its own place in your bag.

Include the rinse before you leave

AAD's swimmer recommendations call for rinsing hair immediately after swimming, then washing with a specially formulated swimmers' shampoo and following with deep conditioner. [2]

As a packing exercise, put the shampoo and conditioner beside your cap and towel. Check whether the pool has a shower you can use after your swim, rather than discovering the facilities after getting out.

Check the salon calendar

If you color your hair blond or have highlights, AAD advises avoiding that coloring before a sun- and pool-filled vacation. Tell your stylist about the trip when arranging the appointment. [1]

Keep thinning concerns on a separate appointment list

AAD advises a dermatologist's assessment when care changes do not help, especially with thinning or hair loss. [2]

These US recommendations do not establish a GLP-1-specific prevention or regrowth routine. For new shedding, read our hair assessment guide.
