If you want a wig during GLP-1 treatment, plan for everyday wear and upkeep.

Check the fit before buying

The American Cancer Society advises checking a brand's size chart and choosing an adjustable wig. Check return terms, including restocking fees, before paying. Its guidance addresses cancer-related hair loss, not GLP-1 treatment. [2]

Match care to the fiber

ACS says synthetic wigs generally cost less and need less maintenance than human-hair wigs. It recommends wig-specific products and short-term storage on a stand. Use a dryer or curling iron only if the wig is heat resistant. [2]

Ask for a demonstration

Before ordering, ask the seller to demonstrate putting it on, adjusting it and taking it off. Request written washing, drying and heat instructions for that exact model. Include supplies and any fitting service in your budget.
