If hand spots concern you during GLP-1 treatment, start with an examination.

Compare time and side effects

AAD says creams may take weeks or months. Procedures generally act faster but cost more and carry greater side-effect risk. Laser treatment can cause crusting or temporary darkening. [1]

Describe color and fullness separately

AAD discusses hand age spots and lost fullness as different concerns. Reduced fullness can make veins more visible. Ask which change the proposed treatment addresses. A rough patch also needs assessment because it may be an actinic keratosis, a precancerous growth. [2]

Prepare for the visit

Write down which spots you want examined and any fading products you already use. Ask what recovery would mean for typing, washing dishes or wearing gloves, and what follow-up the quoted price includes.

These US guidance pages do not establish GLP-1 causation or promise reversal. For dryness, see our hand-washing and moisturizer guide.
