Prickly skin can make a favorite outfit uncomfortable. During GLP-1 treatment, assess a new rash before treating it as a cosmetic nuisance.

Recognize the pattern without diagnosing it

NHS describes heat rash as small raised spots with itching or prickling and mild swelling. Spots can look grey or white on darker skin. Sweating and blocked sweat glands are involved, but that does not identify every rash after exercise. [1]

Give skin a cooler setting

For heat rash, NHS suggests loose cotton clothing, cool showers and avoiding perfumed shower gels or creams. Pat instead of scratching. Ask a pharmacist about treatment; see a GP if it has not improved after a few days. This is UK patient guidance. [1]

Know when cooling is insufficient

US dermatology guidance calls for medical attention for a painful, rapidly spreading or blistering rash, or fever with a rash. Get emergency care immediately for trouble breathing or swallowing, or swelling of eyes or lips. Do not assume these symptoms are prickly heat. [2]

These US and UK resources are not GLP-1 studies and establish no drug cause or cosmetic guarantee. See our workout skin care guide.
