Before surgery for loose skin, ask how the proposed operation will affect your days at home.

Clarify movement limits

Bending, straining or lifting may be restricted for days to weeks. Abdominal or thigh procedures can require position changes to protect sutures. ASPS also emphasizes early walking to reduce clot risk. Ask for your own movement instructions; restrictions do not mean remaining in bed. [1]

Name the help you need

The ASPS consultation checklist includes expected recovery length, the help you will need and how complications are handled. Ask those questions before committing to a date. Request the daytime and after-hours contact route and clarify which concerns require urgent care. [2]

This general US guidance provides no GLP-1-specific recovery timetable. For candidacy, see our loose-skin surgery readiness guide.
